My back is still hurting from the ab-pounding I took on Wednesday, so I could barely get out the three miles before I had to stop and scream bloody ouch murder. I thought it just needed a little stretching, but it turns out I needed a little rest and a little ibuprofen. Maybe I’ll just take it easy until Sunday…

I hurt…I think I may have overdone it just a tad bit.
I warmed up by walking uphill on the treadmill for like 20 minutes, then ran and THEN decided to work on my core with my old enemies, le captain’s chair and le swiss ball. Ouch…

Hello Prospect Park…haven’t seen you and your crazy hill in a while.
If I can whine for a minute, can someone tell me why, why, WHY if I’m running on the extreme side of the road (on the left) so there’s no room to the left of me and nothing but net to the right of me, why would anyone try to pass me on the left - by tailgating me no less. Idiot.
I’m entirely too ornery for behavior like that. I purposely slowed down to a crawl just to f*&k with that woman.

I’m working on getting my paltry (but remarkably consistent) 12-minute mile down to a 10-minute mile. Anyone got any ideas? If your idea is “run faster”, please feel free to keep it to yourself.
I’m trying not to neglect weights this time around so I also did 2 sets of 15 reps each of one-arm rows, push-ups, dumbbell shoulder presses, one-legged dumbbell calf raises, dumbbell curls, overhead triceps extensions, dumbbell squats and deadlifts.
Apparently I also have to remember to watch my nutritional intake. I went down for a squat (luckily the last rep of the last exercise) and came up dizzy and faint. When I added it all up later, I realized that I probably burned more calories during the workout than I had taken in for the entire day. I guess that means that burgers are now officially an acceptable food. Woo hoo!

I’ve decided that it’s damn near impossible to stay healthy this season. I’m not big on nutritional supplements (since they all make me sick to my stomach), but I’ve been drinking juice and eating my Flintstone’s gummy multivitamins. and occasionally eating something green.
BUT, my boss has been walking around the office hacking up his lungs for the past few weeks, so it’s not really a huge surprise to me that I’m sick now too. Although, it does seem like every other person in New York is sick as well.
If you’re a fanciful person (or high on tussin) and you listen closely on the subway, it’s like the mucus symphony:
ha ha ha ha CHOO!
Cough cough! Hack hack!
ha ha ha ha CHOO!
Sniff sniff! Wheeze wheeze!
Hmm, yeah now that I think of it - perhaps I should lay off the tussin too.
